Setting Up your Account
The first thing you’ll need to do when setting up your account is choose a username. This should be something unique, but relatively easy for you and others to remember. For example, if your name is Justin Smith, use something like jsmith or justins. Once you’ve created your account, you can fill out your personal details and choose a new display name for yourself in online systems and communications.
Fill out a Profile Update Request
In order to change your name in Valorant, you’ll need to fill out a Profile Update Request. This ensures that your request is real (not a duplicate) and allows you to clarify why you want to change your name.
Submit Your Request
When you first sign up for Valorant, you’ll be asked to create a username and password that will serve as your login credentials. After that point, if you decide you want to change your name in valorant, simply log into your account and head over to Account Settings. From there, click on Change Your Username. Next, type in your new username and hit save.
Wait For The Approval Email
You can check if your new name has been approved in My Account > Settings > Display Name. The email should contain a verification link that you’ll need to click to confirm you want to change your display name. Once you’ve confirmed, it should be updated within a few hours!
Verify the email sent to you
After you have created a username and password, you will need to verify your email address. Click on Verify my Email Address. Verify your email address by typing in and submitting your verified email. Now that you have completed these steps, you are ready to create an account! To create an account and start using valorant, simply click here. Enter in all required information during signup. Add additional details about yourself or attach files if needed.
Retrieve your new username!
To change your username, simply navigate to your user profile and select Change username. Once you’ve set a new name for yourself, be sure that it is saved in both Username and Display name fields. That way, you can ensure that it shows up correctly across all of our different products.
Logout, then login with your new username
Once you’ve chosen your new username, you’ll need to log out of Valorant and then log back in using your new username. Just select Logout from your homepage drop-down menu, then log back in with your username and password. You will receive a pop-up confirmation message upon successful login: Welcome [newname]!
That’s it. You have successfully changed your username. Congratulations!
